Acrisure Re has announced the appointment of Ben Canagaretna as managing director of the London corporate advisory and solutions business.
Canagaretna will be based in London and will report to Acrisure Re Chief Executive Officer, Jason Howard.
In his new role, Canagaretna will build upon Acrisure Re’s existing capabilities to provide corporate advisory services to carriers and reinsurers.
His focus will be advising on overall strategy, capital management, legacy transactions, mergers and acquisitions and access to alternative capital.
Canagaretna brings more than 19 years’ industry and actuarial experience and was previously managing director at Arch Insurance Group, where he was responsible for leading the managing agency.
Prior to this, he was group chief actuary of Barbican Group for 10 years, as well as director of Barbican Managing Agency from 2011 to 2016.
He was a divisional actuary for Liberty Syndicate’s casualty team from 2007 to 2009 having previously held roles at Whittington Capital Management and PwC.
