AIG announces Jurgensen to retire from Board of Directors

American International Group (AIG) has announced that William G. (Jerry) Jurgensen has decided to retire from the AIG Board of Directors and will not stand for re-election at the company’s 2023 Annual Meeting in May.

william-jurgensen-aigJurgensen has served on the AIG Board of Directors since 2013. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc, a role he held from 2000 to 2009.

During this time, he also served as Director and Chief Executive Officer of several other companies within the Nationwide enterprise.

Prior to his time in the insurance industry, he spent 27 years in the commercial banking industry. Before joining Nationwide he served as an executive vice president at BankOne Corporation, now a part of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

He also managed the merger integration between First Chicago Corporation and NBD Bancorp, Inc. and later was Chief Executive Officer for First Card, First Chicago’s credit card subsidiary.
