Enstar, a global insurance and reinsurance group and consolidator of legacy re/insurance liabilities, has announced the promotion of David Ni to President, and also the appointment of two senior industry executives to drive its expansion and diversification across specialist underwriting and retrospective solutions.
Ni joined Enstar in 2019, initially serving as Executive Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions before stepping into the role of Chief Strategy Officer
Over his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s 30-plus-year track record of delivering innovative risk solutions across the global re/insurance sector.
In his newly appointed position as President, Ni will collaborate with Chief Executive Officer Dominic Silvester to steer Enstar’s overarching strategy.
Jointly, they will champion the Group’s expansion in retrospective solutions and specialist underwriting, reinforced by the integration of AF Group.
Enstar has also announced the appointment of Mike Jones as Chief Operating Officer, tasked with overseeing the company’s global operations, technology and data functions.
The executive joins from Chubb, where he served as Vice President, Global Operations Officer and Head of North America Technology and Operations, and brings over 30 years of experience in technology and operations across the insurance and banking sectors to his new position.
Ann Chai has joined Enstar as incoming Chief Risk Officer. She will succeed Chloe Paillot, who is leaving Enstar on December 31, 2026 to pursue other opportunities.
Chai is joining from Zurich, where she held senior roles such as Chief Risk Officer for Zurich North America and Global Head of Risk for Zurich Commercial Insurance, leading risk governance and strategy across financial, insurance, operational, strategic and emerging risks.
The executive is bringing more than two decades of experience spanning actuarial science, finance and enterprise risk leadership to Enstar.
Both Jones and Chai will form part of Enstar’s executive leadership team and report directly to Silvester, who commented: “Enstar’s success has always been built on exceptional talent and expertise. David has made an outstanding contribution since joining us, and his promotion to President recognises his central role in bringing together our capabilities to deliver leading capital and risk solutions for clients at an important moment for the company.
“Mike brings an impressive operations and technology track record that will be critical as we build a broader, more diverse business across retrospective solutions and specialist underwriting. Ann is a highly respected risk leader whose expertise will strengthen our risk governance as the Group grows. I would also like to thank Chloe for her significant contribution and wish her every success.”
