Jon Hancock, who since 2016 served as Director of Performance Management at Lloyd’s of London, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of International General Insurance at AIG, effective spring 2020.
The specialist Lloyd’s of London insurance and reinsurance marketplace announced in January that Hancock was to step down from his role, and his next move has now been confirmed.
In his new role as CEO of International General Insurance at global insurer and reinsurer AIG, Hancock will report to Peter Zaffino, President & Global Chief Operating Officer (COO), AIG, and CEO of General Insurance. Hancock will also serve on the General Insurance Executive Leadership Team.
As CEO, he will be tasked with leading the international operations of AIG’s General Insurance division.
Commenting on Hancock’s appointment, Zaffino said: “Jon is a seasoned executive and industry leader recognized for his track record of underwriting excellence and delivering strong financial results. Jon’s deep technical expertise and significant international operating experience ideally qualify him for this important leadership role.”
Prior to Lloyd’s of London, Hancock worked at RSA for 26 years in various roles of increasing responsibility, including Managing Director, UK Commercial, and Global Broker Relationship Director. He has also served as RSA’s CEO for Asia, Middle East and Africa, and has held chief underwriter and risk roles in both developed and emerging markets.
