Alliant closes merger with personal lines insurer Confie

Alliant Insurance Services, the specialty insurance brokerage firm, has completed its merger agreement with US personal lines distributer Confie.

alliantlogo-2c-finalAnnounced in April 2021, the deal brings Confie’s personal insurance brands, more than 3,500 employees, and in excess of 1 million customers under the Alliant banner.

Confie was founded in 2008 and maintains more than 150 national and regional carrier partnerships, through which it offers auto, motorcycle, homeowners, renters, life, health, and various other insurance products.

Its brands include Freeway Insurance, InsureOne Insurance, Bluefire Insurance, OneSource Dealer Services, Cost-U-Less Insurance Center, Baja Auto Insurance, and U.S. Agencies.

Soriano and his team will continue to operate under the Confie brand following the merger.

J.P. Morgan served as financial advisor, Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as transaction counsel, and Foley and Lardner LLP served as insurance regulatory counsel to Abry and Confie during this transaction.
