American Financial Group appointed John B. Berding as the new President of AFG, effective immediately.

Berding, who currently serves as the President of American Money Management Corporation (AMMC), will continue his role in addition to his new responsibilities.

The position of President was previously jointly held by Carl H. Lindner III and S. Craig Lindner, who will retain their positions as Co-Chief Executive Officers.

In his new role, Berding will work closely with the Co-Chief Executive Officers on strategic planning and capital management matters.

Berding’s association with AFG dates back to his time as a co-op student at the University of Cincinnati, where he pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration.

After completing his education, he joined the company full-time in 1987 as an investment professional at AMMC, a subsidiary of AFG.

Over the years, Berding has held various executive positions within AMMC and other AFG subsidiaries, showcasing his expertise and commitment to the organisation.

He has served as the President of AMMC since 2011 and has been a member of AFG’s Board of Directors since 2012.

In a joint statement, S. Craig Lindner and Carl Lindner III expressed their confidence in Berding’s abilities and highlighted his long-standing contributions to the company.

They commended his exceptional vision and management of AFG’s investment portfolio, which has consistently outperformed industry indices.

The Co-Chief Executive Officers affirmed their excitement to collaborate more closely with Berding in his expanded role and expect him to continue playing a significant role in the success of AFG.
