AmTrust Title Insurance promotes Felice Shapiro to General Counsel role

AmTrust Title Insurance Company, the title insurance subsidiary of P&C re/insurer AmTrust Financial Services, has announced the promotion of Felice K. Shapiro to the role of General Counsel for AmTrust Title and First Nationwide Title.

felice-shapiroIn her new role, Shapiro will be responsible for all underwriting decisions for both AmTrust Title and First Nationwide Title.

Shapiro joined AmTrust Title in 2016 and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriter, with responsibility for overseeing all legal and underwriting decisions for the direct and agency sides of the business.

Prior to AmTrust Title, Shapiro was Executive Director and Counsel of TIRSA, a rating agency for title insurance.

She has also spent more than 17 years at Old Republic Title Company, where she held the role of Senior Counsel, VP.

“Felice has made countless contributions to the title insurance industry from her work as President of NYSLTA, Executive Director of TIRSA and now General Counsel at one of the leading title insurance underwriters in the industry,” said Jason Gordon, President of AmTrust Title.

“With more than 35 years of industry experience working for two of the largest title insurance companies in the industry and helping launch AmTrust Title in 2016, she brings significant legal and title insurance expertise to the role,” Gordon continued.
