Antares, the Lloyd’s managing agent and member of the QIC Group, has announced the appointment of John Taylor as Head of Specialty.
Taylor will report to the Active Underwriter Joe Battle and replaces Kieran Oliver, who is retiring from Antares after nearly two decades at the firm.
With 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Taylor joins Antares from CNA Hardy, where he most recently served as Head of Specialty.
He has held a range of senior roles at CNA Hardy over the course of 12 years, including Chief Underwriting Officer, European Financial Lines Manager and UK Financial Lines Manager.
Prior to that, Taylor was at Chubb for nine years, having begun his insurance career as a broker at Willis.
