Insurance and reinsurance broking group, Aon, has appointed Brian Wanat as the new Head of Commercial Risk for North America.
Wanat has been with Aon for more than 21 years, and most recently served as Chief Broking Officer of U.S Commercial Risk Solutions, a role he assumed in 2018.
In this role, Wanat was responsible for driving Aon’s broking strategy and also ensured the U.S. broking strategy was aligned with its global objectives while developing and fostering market relationships.
Previously, Wanat served as the Chief Executive Officer of Financial Services Group (FSG) for more than eight years, and from 2007 – 2010, was the division’s Managing Director.
He started his career with Aon in 2002 as Senior Vice President, Team Leader, within FSG.
Prior to joining the global re/insurance broker, Wanat spent seven years with CNA Financial as a Senior Vice President, having joined the company from AIG in 1995, where he worked as a Regional Underwriting Manager for three years.
