Insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced the appointment of Brian Wanat to the position of Chief Broking Officer of U.S Commercial Risk Solutions.
Wanat will report to Aon’s Chief Executive for U.S Retail, Lori Goltermann, and his management responsibilities will span across the Financial Services Group, National Property, National Casualty, Aviation, Crisis Management, Marine and the Global Risk Consulting Group.
“Building a coordinated broking organisation – one that drives value to clients, and leads the industry with innovation, thought leadership and data and analytics – is the pinnacle of our best-in-class broking strategy,” said Goltermann.
Wanat joined Aon’s Financial Services Group in 2002, where he most recently served as CEO. He brings more than 25 years of experience in insurance underwriting and broking to his new role, spending time at both AIG and CNA.
While continuing to be based in New York and remaining a member of the U.S Commercial Risk & Health Executive Committee, Wanat will also be responsible for setting best practices for commercial broking across Aon’s field organisation and will work closely with Theresa Bourdon, National Industry Practice Leader, to execute broking strategy across industry practice groups.
“The experience and leadership Brian brings to the table will undoubtedly bring this strategy to life, and drive innovation and the use of data and analytics to achieve results for clients,” added Goltermann.
