Aon today announced the appointment of two executives to its risk and consulting divisions; James Platt will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aon Risk Solutions and Michael Moran as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aon Inpoint.
Platt will work with Mike O’Connor, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions, and the firm’s Global Operating Committee to develop the business’ strategy, deliver key change initiatives and drive business performance.
Steve McGill, Group President of Aon plc, said the firm was privileged to have a strong pool of senior and rising talent across the firm; “I take particular pride in filling these leadership roles with proven Aon colleagues who will continue to drive our clients’ success.”
For the last two years, Platt led Aon Inpoint, transforming the firm’s data, analytics and services offering to both re/insurers and colleagues – experience which he will carry over into his new role as head of the Data & Analytics business for Aon Risk Solutions, and Aon’s Innovation Centre in Dublin.
Moran, who was a founding member of Aon Inpoint, will head up business expansion in his new Chicago-based role as CEO of Aon Inpoint – the firm’s re/insurer consulting arm.
Moran has served Aon in a number of executive roles for the past 11 years, most recently as COO of its reinsurance brokerage unit, Aon Benfield.
The new appointments demonstrate the firm’s drive to invest in data and analytics.
