Aon has hired John Morley to be its Asia Pacific growth leader in its strategy and technology team.
Morley’s role will become effective on 5 December and is joining the firm from EY, where he was an insurance consulting partner, having previously held roles at Accenture, KPMG, and Willis Towers Watson.
He will report to Colin Forrest, chief executive officer of the strategy and technology group and be based in Singapore.
According to his profile on EY, Morley currently leads the EY offering for finance transformation in Singapore, including IFRS 17 for insurance clients.
Before taking on his current EY role in 2019, Morley was the global head of business process excellence and being responsible for Business Process Reengineering (BPR) programs internally and clients through the consulting division. His LinkedIn profile indicates that his roles at WTW, Accenture, and KPMG over the years were all senior positions.
Writing on the EY website, Morley wrote: “Over the span of my career, I’ve had the opportunity of working at the world’s largest insurance and reinsurance companies across Asean. I have accumulated experience in solving the business and financial issues faced by an industry that is moving swiftly into the digital age. Drawing on my knowledge of the fundamentals of insurance, I have worked with insurers to turn their strategic vision into an economic and operational reality.”
