Insurance and reinsurance broking group, Aon, has appointed Mona Barnes as Chief Claims Officer, Global Broking Centre (GBC) & UK, reporting to James Baum and Neil Harrison.
The appointment is effective from 30th October 2023.
In her new role, Barnes’ remit will include overseeing teams of claims professionals dedicated to the London Market and UK Regional client segments.
Barnes will join the firm’s London-based Wholesale & Specialty Broking (GBC) Executive Team and Global Claims Leadership Team.
James Baum, Global Head of Wholesale & Specialty Broking, commented on the appointment: “Mona is an experienced, innovative leader and will bring to Aon significant experience across a broad array of risk classes and complex claims issues.”
Previously, Barnes was the leader of Swiss Re Group’s Key Case & Large Loss Management team, and she has also served as the Vice President of Chubb Overseas Claims Management.
Neil Harrison, Global Chief Claims Officer, said: “The delivery of best-in-class claims outcomes and services for clients is a key differentiator for Aon. Adding Mona to our team in this vitally important leadership position reinforces our commitment to clients, colleagues, insurers and other business partners across all facets of claims.”
