Aon shuffles EMEA leadership

Global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced a number of senior leadership appointments in EMEA, as John Cullen steps down from his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Commercial Risk, Health and Affinity in EMEA at the end of June.

Aon logoAs a result of Cullen’s transition from the role, Julie Page, currently CEO of Commercial Risk, Health and Affinity for the UK and Aon UK Ltd, will report to Eric Andersen, Aon’s President, and will join the broker’s global Operating Committee.

Page has been appointed as CEO of the UK region on the future of Aon Executive Committee, which comes into effect upon the completion of Aon’s proposed $30 billion combination with Willis Towers Watson.

Now, Eduardo Dávila, currently CEO of Aon Iberia and Middle East, will take on responsibility for Commercial Risk, Health and Affinity in EMEA (excluding UK). As CEO of the division, Dávila reports directly to Andersen and Carlo Clavarino, Executive Chairman, International Business, and is also set to join the global Aon Operating Committee.

At the same time, Dávila has been appointed CEO of the EMEA (excluding UK) as part of the future Aon Executive Committee.

In his new role as Executive Chairman of International business, Clavarino will continue to play a vital role across the region. Additionally, he has been named as Chair, International as part of the future Aon Executive Committee.

Commenting on the appointments, Andersen said: “John has consistently delivered for our colleagues and clients over the past 27 years, and we look forward to his continuing efforts as Chair of Aon’s recently established EMEA M&A and Transaction Solutions Advisory Board.

“At the same time, I welcome Julie, Eduardo and Carlo to their expanded roles. As future Aon Executive Committee leaders, they have extensive market experience and strong insights and are recognized for leading and inspiring colleagues to deliver outstanding results.”
