Apollo Syndicate Management, the independent specialist insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Chris Moore as Head of ibott and Deputy Active Underwriter of ibott’s special purpose arrangement (SPA) 1971 at Lloyd’s.
Effective immediately, Moore will report to Matt Newman, Group Head of Casualty at Apollo.
The ibott (insuring businesses of tomorrow, today) SPA 1971 launched in January 2019 at Lloyd’s, and specialises in underwriting solutions for innovative companies in the sharing economy.
Moore has been with Apollo since 2013, with previous roles focussing on casualty and the global sharing economy at ibott.
Prior to this, he was an international casualty and US general liability underwriter at Catlin.
“We have been systematically expanding our offering for clients in the global sharing economy market, with a particular focus on the rapidly-growing ibott SPA 1971 at Lloyd’s,” said Matt Newman.
“Chris has been absolutely instrumental to Apollo’s expansion in this space and his new role enables him to focus on ibott’s continued development,” he added. “We are therefore pleased to announce that he is now leading the team.”
Moore also commented: “The global sharing economy is a rapidly evolving market and I’m very excited to be able to focus on leading our team on spearheading the evolution of fit for purpose insurance products for clients in the sector.”
“The expertise we have developed over the past few years uniquely positions the Apollo ibott team in the ability to collaborate with sharing economy platforms to create new insurance products that best support their future aspirations.”
