Aqueous appoints William Hall to new position

Aqueous has appointed William Hall as a senior development underwriter.

aqueous-logoHall is moving over from his current position at Brunel Professions where he works as an associate director.

Terry Shaw, head of PI at Aqueous, said: “I’m pleased to welcome William to the growing team at Aqueous. His track record and experience speak for themselves, he’s a strong addition to the team. With five ‘A’ Rated capacity backers, increased limits available and a growing underwriting team, we provide a compelling offering to our brokers.”

The Manchester-based firm said in a statement that the appointment of Hall is aimed at building on new business opportunities in the regional market. Earlier this year, the MGA announced it had secured an increase in its PI capacity with cover available for limits up to £10m.

The push enables Aqueous to offer more cover on either a primary or excess layer basis, or a combination of both.

It also meant that the MGA could offer its brokers a one-stop shop for clients through the provision of more comprehensive programmes, multiple coverage layers, and excess of loss capacity for risks where the MGA is not the primary provider.

The new capacity was obtained through the addition of Great American International Insurance (UK) Limited to the MGA’s existing panel of providers and follows on from a period of rapid growth.

Hall has over 35 years’ experience in the PI and financial lines sector, starting his career at Royal Sun Alliance before launching ‘PI Protect’, which was later acquired by Barbican Insurance.

In January, Aqueous expanded its underwriting team with the addition of three new hires.
