Arch Insurance International, part of global insurer and reinsurer Arch Capital Group and a provider of specialty insurance solutions, has announced the promotion of Roger Moniz to Head of Transactional Risk.
In his new role, Moniz will be responsible for growing Arch’s transactional risk portfolio, which provides coverage for representations and warranties, warranty and indemnity, and tax insurance risks across Arch’s international platform.
He will underwrite a global portfolio, focusing on risks in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Australia.
Based in Bermuda, Moniz will report to Matt Smith, Managing Director, Arch Insurance Bermuda, and will work closely with Maggie Munns, Head of Executive Assurance, Arch Insurance International.
Moniz joined Arch in 2021 and most recently served as EVP – Underwriting Manager, Executive Assurance, where he managed the Transactional Liability book and co-managed the Directors and Officers book. Prior to joining Arch, he held roles at Aon and RenaissanceRe.
Smith commented, “Roger’s promotion is very well-deserved. His underwriting expertise and experience supporting brokers and clients through complex M&A transactions makes him well placed to lead the expansion of our transactional risk portfolio across the international business. I have the utmost confidence in his leadership as Arch continues to build its relevance in this sector and respond to the evolving risk landscape.”
Moniz added, “This role represents an exciting expansion of my responsibilities, leading Transactional Risk underwriting across Arch’s international offices.
“The opportunity to work across these markets and support complex cross-border M&A transactions is one I’m genuinely excited about. In a market where deals move quickly, speed, certainty, and commercially focused solutions are critical to successful execution, and I look forward to working with our broking partners to help clients navigate these transactions with confidence.”
