Arch Insurance NA reshapes leadership team to strengthen wholesale operations

Arch Insurance North America (Arch Insurance), a subsidiary of Arch Capital Group and a provider of speciality insurance products and services, has announced several leadership appointments as part of efforts to enhance its Wholesale business and support continued expansion within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market.

arch-capital-logoThe company has created the new role of Division President – Wholesale Property & Casualty and appointed Jason Conkin to the position. Arch Insurance said Conkin will be responsible for leading underwriting activities and advancing growth initiatives across its E&S portfolio.

As part of the leadership changes, Mike Ward has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Head of E&S Casualty, while Joe Morrello continues in his role as Executive Vice President, Head of E&S Property. Both executives will report to Conkin under the revised structure.

Arch Insurance has also named Jared Stacey as Senior Vice President, Head of Wholesale Distribution. Reporting to Sue Srinivasan, Executive Vice President, Distribution, Stacey will oversee the company’s Wholesale distribution strategy, working to strengthen coordination with underwriting teams and improve consistency for Wholesale trading partners.

Brian First, President of Arch Insurance North America, commented: “Unifying E&S Property and E&S Casualty under Jason, and appointing Jared as a dedicated Wholesale distribution leader, allows for stronger internal collaboration and demonstrates our commitment to growing our E&S business across market cycles with Wholesale producers. We are fortunate that Arch is a dynamic company with a deep bench of experienced leaders who are ready to step into new roles as we evolve.”

The company also confirmed that Valerie Turpin, Division President – Property, will retire on 1 July. Turpin has led Arch Insurance’s Property business for almost eight years.

First added: “On behalf of all of Arch, I want to thank Valerie for her transformative contributions to our business. She will be dearly missed and we wish her all the best in retirement.”

According to Arch Insurance, the appointments form part of its broader strategy to reinforce its Wholesale capabilities and position the business for sustained growth across changing market conditions.
