Global specialty insurance broker Price Forbes, part of the Ardonagh Group, has appointed Nick Gavin-Powell as its new Head of Private Clients.
In his new role, Gavin-Powell will lead a team of experts that will develop products and solutions for international clients looking to protect high-value personal assets, which includes fine art, diamonds and jewellery, cars and homes.
At the same time, Gavin-Powell will report to Jonathan Clark, CEO of Fine Art, Jewellery & Specie at Price Forbes.
An experienced veteran across the industry, Gavin-Powell is the co-founder of Miller’s Private Client business.
Prior to that he served as Head of Private Clients for Aon.
In addition, he also previously served as divisional director at RKH/Howden, co-founding the Howden Private Office business for ultra-high-net worth individuals and families.
Jonathan commented on the appointment: “We are very excited to add private client capability to our offering, and absolutely delighted to have Nick head up the team. He has a proven track record within the private client arena both leading existing teams as well as establishing and growing new ventures. Alongside his excellent connections and a strong reputation in the sector, it makes him the perfect hire.
“With the recent integration of our Fine Art, Jewellery & Specie teams under the Price Forbes banner, our existing team of nearly 40 specialists already offers best-in-class solutions to our clients across the world – and with the products and services Nick is developing we can now offer even more added value to the suite of services we provide.”
Addressing his new role, Gavin-Powell said: “Price Forbes growth journey and entrepreneurial spirit is incredibly compelling. Joining the company at such an exciting time – to launch a brand new offering that’s so complementary to its existing capabilities – was just too good an opportunity to pass up.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new colleagues, understanding the business capabilities within Price Forbes and across Ardonagh Specialty, and expanding what we can do to capitalize on the opportunities in the current landscape.
“International clients and retailers need access to new solutions to help protect high-value personal assets. With a lot of business now coming into London due to local capacity issues, our new offering will help clients find the most appropriate solutions quickly, effectively – and competitively.”
