Argo Group appoints GuideOne CEO Jessica Snyder as new president of US insurance

Argo Group has appointed former Guide One CEO Jessica Snyder to be its president of US insurance.

argo globalSnyder will begin in her new role immediately and is set to report to Tom Bradley, executive chairman and chief executive officer of the firm. She joins from GuideOne, where she was president and chief executive from 2017.

Bradley said in a statement: “Jessica has extensive executive experience in the property and casualty insurance industry that will serve Argo well as we continue to invest in the U.S. business and accelerate profitable growth.

“She also has a proven track record of leading transformational growth strategies. We are confident she is a strong leader to help drive our U.S. business into the future.”

Prior to GuideOne, Snyder held multiple leadership positions in the property and casualty industry.

She served as senior vice president of commercial and specialty lines at State Auto Insurance.

She also served as senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Rockhill Insurance Group, and as chief financial officer at Citizens Property Insurance.

The news of Snyder’s appointment comes just after the firm announced the appointment of J. Daniel Plants as an independent member of the company’s Board of Directors.

With the addition of Plants, Argo’s Board will comprise nine directors, eight of whom are independent, and six of whom have been appointed in the last three years. In connection with Mr Plants’ appointment to the Board, he will also be appointed to serve on the Board’s Strategic Review Committee and Human Resources Committee.
