Lloyd’s of London insurer and member of Argo Group, ArgoGlobal has appointed John Moffatt as an active underwriter for Syndicate 1200, reporting to Matt Harris, group head of International operations.
Moffatt’s appointment remains subject to regulatory approval, and sees him move from his previous role with ArgoGlobal as the head of its specialty business, a position he has held since 2015. Having first joined the firm in 2010 as class underwriter for accident and health, in 2013, Moffatt was appointed deputy of the property division.
He brings over 25 years of industry experience to the role, and prior to ArgoGlobal served at QBE European Operations managing their accident and health portfolio.
Harris commented: “ArgoGlobal continues to strengthen a growing bench of top-tier talent, and I’m pleased to have John in this critical position. John’s proven track record and long-standing relationships within Lloyd’s will serve us well as we continue to reposition our Lloyd’s book of business.”
Moffatt replaces Steve Eccles, who will immediately commence leave from the office.
