Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has announced the acquisition of Carlsbad, California-based Benchmark Commercial Insurance Services.
Benchmark is a retail insurance agency that has been offering commercial and personal risk management and insurance solutions to business owners in San Diego and the surrounding area for the last two and a half decades.
The firm’s owner, Robert Cohen, and his team are set to remain in their current location under the direction of Scott Firestone, head of Gallagher’s Southwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.

In early May, Arthur J. Gallagher acquired Switzerland-based fine art insurance broker, accurART.
Later that same month, Gallagher subsidiaries Artex Risk Solutions, Inc. and Risk Placement Services, Inc. completed two other separate acquisitions.
