Global specialty re/insurance company Ascot Group Limited has appointed James Lee as President of Leadline Capital Partners, Ascot’s dedicated third-party capital management platform launched in August 2024.
Lee has over two decades of expertise in capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS), specialising in the origination, structuring and placement of risk transfer and financing solutions for P&C insurers and reinsurers.
Most recently, he served as EVP, Managing Director – Capital Markets at Aspen Insurance Holdings/Sompo International.
Before this, he spent eight years at Deutsche Bank Securities in the Insurance Solutions Group, where he was responsible for structuring catastrophe bond and sidecar transactions and providing capital and risk management advice to insurance clients.
Building on Leadline Capital Partners’ strong foundation and growth trajectory, Lee will reportedly oversee the strategic direction and market development of the firm, while also leading its ILS initiatives and global capital raising and investor engagement efforts.
He will be based in the company’s Stamford, CT office, reporting to Marc Amen, CEO, North America, who commented, “James is a proven leader with deep experience across insurance capital markets and insurance-linked securities.
