Aspen confirms Sarah Stanford as CEO of Aspen UK

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, Aspen Insurance Holdings, has confirmed the appointment of Sarah Stanford as CEO of Aspen UK.

Prior to her approval, Stanford had been appointed as Interim CEO, Aspen UK on January 17, 2024. Before this, she was serving as the Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711, representing approximately 75% of Aspen’s UK business.

Stanford brings 25 years of industry experience to her new role, having joined Aspen in 2007, having held various senior roles ever since.

Through her time with Aspen, she has served as Head of International Management Liability and Professional Lines, was appointed Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711 in 2019, a role that will be taken over by Dan Osman.

Subject to regulatory approval, Osman will assume his new responsibilities in addition to his current role as CUO, Aspen Insurance UK (AIUK).

He joined Aspen in January 2018 as Senior Underwriter, and was promoted to Head of Credit and Political Risk in 2021. In 2022, he was also appointed CUO, AIUK.

Prior to Aspen, Osman spent 17 years in the banking industry, holding various roles in credit including credit research, correlation trading, bond and credit default swap trading, loan and portfolio management.
