Lloyd’s third-party managing agent Asta appointed Seema Bradbury as Chief Risk Officer, while Liz Catchpole joins as an independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee.
These appointments follow strategic board changes made last year as part of Asta’s long-term succession planning.
With over two decades of experience in the London market, Bradbury brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Asta.
Formerly the Group Risk Director and Chief Risk Officer of the managing agency at AXIS, Bradbury has held various key roles within the Lloyd’s and London market, including positions at Beazley, ArgoGlobal, and Miller.
In her new role, Bradbury will lead the business as part of Asta’s executive team, assuming specific responsibility for the leadership and development of the risk management function.
Catchpole, who was appointed to Asta’s board in January 2023, will be designated as Chair of the Audit Committee, subject to regulatory approval.
Catchpole is a certified chartered accountant with more than two decades of executive board-level experience, primarily within the insurance, outsourcing, and property sectors. She currently serves as an independent Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair at Investec Wealth and Investment, as well as an independent Non-Executive Director, Senior Independent Director, and Audit Chair of GBG plc.
Catchpole is also the Independent Chairman of TP Bennett. Previously, she held positions as Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit at British Gas Insurance and British Gas Services.
She will succeed Andrew Hubbard, the current Audit Committee Chair, who has held the position for nine years.
Lorraine Harfitt, CEO of Asta, expressed her delight at the new appointments, stating, “We are delighted to welcome both Seema and Liz to Asta. Seema will be a fantastic addition to the executive team. Her excellent leadership skills, expertise in risk management, as well as her recent involvement in culture and ESG initiatives, will be of immense value to both us and our clients. Liz will also be a great addition to the board. She is a highly experienced non-executive director, and her fresh external perspective and advisory capabilities will prove invaluable to the business. Following a number of board changes made last year, these appointments will add further strength as we look to continue to grow and develop Asta.”
