Aston Lark acquires Exeter-based broker, Isca Barum

Aston Lark, a Goldman Sachs-backed chartered insurance broker, has acquired Exeter, UK-based independent brokerage, Isca Barum Insurance Brokers.

ExeterThe acquisition of Isca Barum, a broker offering a full suite of insurance services to corporate and private clients across the UK, is Aston Lark’s first acquisition of the year.

The firm has a specialist focus in smallholding and farm insurance, and is headquartered in Exeter in the southwest of the UK, with a regional office in Barnstaple.

Isca Barum has gross written premium (GWP) of more than £5 million, and has grown both organically and via acquisitions over the past four decades, and has 20 employees operating over its two offices.

Peter Blanc, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aston Lark, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Bruce, Sarah, Andy, Simon and the whole team to the Aston Lark family. Isca Barum clearly shares our views around client service and we know that they’ll be a fantastic addition to the group.”
