Atrium, a specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, has announced the appointment of Naveed Haque as Head of Casualty Reinsurance.

In this role at Atrium, he will be responsible for building and developing the company’s Casualty Reinsurance portfolio, with an emphasis on sustainable growth and disciplined underwriting performance within Atrium’s wider casualty offering.

Haque brings 22 years of industry experience to Atrium. He joins the company from RenaissanceRe, where he spent nearly ten years working within its Casualty Treaty business unit.

His earlier career includes roles at Liberty Specialty Markets, Atrium, and Aspen, giving him a broad background across the London market and international reinsurance sector, which Atrium highlights as particularly relevant to his new leadership position.

Peter Laidlaw, Active Underwriter at Atrium’s Syndicate 609, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Naveed back to Atrium. Naveed is a highly respected leader with a deep understanding of the Casualty reinsurance market. His extensive experience managing large treaty portfolios and longstanding relationships with clients and brokers across the industry make him exceptionally well positioned to lead and grow our Casualty Treaty business.”

Haque added: “I am delighted to be joining Atrium at this key time in its history. I look forward to working closely with the Casualty team to drive an innovative and disciplined underwriting strategy that leverages our underwriting talent, product range, relationships and global reach.”
