Aviva, the UK-based insurance, wealth and retirement group, has announced plans to rename Probitas 1492 as ‘Aviva Syndicates’, as part of the continued integration of its Lloyd’s platform into the company’s Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) division.

According to Aviva, the change reflects the next stage in bringing its Lloyd’s operations under a unified brand following the acquisition of Probitas in 2024. The company said its objective has been to develop a specialist insurance business operating under a single identity while maintaining its dual-stamp market presence.

Since completing the acquisition, Aviva has expanded its Lloyd’s capabilities, launching eight new lines of business as part of its growth strategy within the specialty insurance market.

Jason Storah, CEO, UK & Ireland General Insurance at Aviva, commented: “Bringing Probitas fully under the Aviva brand is the next step in building a truly integrated specialty business. We’ve already combined our teams and capabilities and are now seeing the benefits of trading as one platform. Aviva Syndicates will sharpen our presence in the Lloyd’s market and makes it easier for brokers and clients to access the full strength of our underwriting, risk expertise and global reach.”
