AXA XL announces two senior promotions within Excess Casualty business

AXA XL has announced two senior promotions within its Excess Casualty Insurance business, appointing Vivienne Moniz and Elaine Scully Head of Excess Casualty, Bermuda and Head of Excess Casualty, Dublin, respectively.

XL Group AXA acquisitionMoniz brings over 15 years’ experience to the role and will report to XL Bermuda Chief Executive Officer of Insurance, Patrick Tannock. She has held progressively senior roles within the company, including most recently Head of Healthcare, Bermuda.

Effective immediately, AXA XL says their responsibilities will include driving strategic growth and operational objectives within their regions and ensuring the highest degree of underwriting standards and profitability.

“Given the exponential rate of change, the ever evolving complexity of risk and the constant challenges facing the insurance industry, it is imperative that every opportunity is made to identify, attract and retain the best talent,” Tannock commented.

“That’s why we’re proud and fortunate to have individuals of Vivienne and Elaine’s calibre taking on increasing leadership roles.”

Scully holds more than 11 years of industry experience and will report to AXA XL Insurance President, Global Excess Casualty Donnacha Smyth. Prior to her new role she served as Senior Underwriter, Vice President on the Excess Casualty team in Dublin.

“The fact that Elaine and Vivienne are willing and able to step into these leadership positions underscores AXA XL’s bench strength,” added Smyth.

“Both are highly respected within the organization and their respective markets for their technical expertise, market knowledge and professional, collaborative and conscientious approach to business. I look forward to working more closely with them in their new roles.”
