AXA XL names new Head of M&A & Title, UK & Lloyd’s

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has announced the promotion of Simon Price to Head of M&A & Title – UK & Lloyd’s.

Price has been with the company for seven years, and has held several management roles within the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team.

Having joined as part of the XL Catlin team, where he was Head of M&A, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The XL Group was acquired by AXA in 2018, creating AXA XL

The executive was later appointed Head of International M&A, a role he held for over five years.

Prior to this, Price spent over seven years at Marsh, specialising in warranty and indemnity and specific/contingent risk insurance.

He joined the company as Vice President, PEMA in 2012. In 2016 he became Senior Vice President, PEMA.

The executive was also part David Arnold Cooper LLP, at DAC’s corporate department, following his time at QBE European Operations.

Prior to his time working in the insurance market, Price spent ten years in private legal practice. He graduated the University of Oxford with a bachelor’s degree in Law and became a Judicial Assistant following a year at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.

Price was part of 3i Group plc, working as Secondee to Investment Legal team and became a trainee solicitor at Macfarlanes before working as a Locum solicitor at SJ Berwin.
