AXA XL names Steddon Head of Crisis Management, UK & Lloyd’s and GCUO

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has made two strategic senior appointments, including the promotion of Mark Steddon to Head of Crisis Management, UK & Lloyd’s and GCUO.

Steddon previously served as the Head of UK and Global Product Head, War, Terrorism and Political Violence at AXA XL.

At the same time, the insurer has appointed Paul Thomas as Head of Sports, Media & Entertainment, UK & Lloyd’s and GCUO.

Thomas started his career at Sportscover in 2008 as an Underwriter. Post that he held several positions in various increasing seniority including Underwriting Manager and Business Development Director.

Thomas also served as the Senior Class Underwriter of Sport & Leisure for XL Catlin Crisis.

Last month, AXA XL announced that its US Mid-Market insurance business is extending its general liability coverage for mid-size businesses by rolling out its new XL Plus broadening endorsement, which offers more than two dozen expanded protections.
