AXA XL promotes Goepp to Head of West, Excess Casualty and Bueno to Head of Central, USRM

French insurer AXA’s property, casualty and specialty risk division, AXA XL, has promoted Nick Goepp to Head of West, Excess Casualty and Lexi Bueno to Head of Central, US Risk Management (USRM).

AXA XL logoBoth Goepp and Bueno will report to Matthew Stitham, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Casualty for the Americas region.

Goepp is based in San Francisco, and assumes the role previously held by Stitham who was promoted to his current role in January 2026.

AXA XL explained that Goepp has been a key member of the Excess Casualty West team since 2018, and has experience spanning over a decade in underwriting construction, energy, real estate, and casualty risks.

Meanwhile, Bueno will be based in Chicago, and lead the Central USRM team. During her five-year tenure with AXA XL, she has progressively advanced from underwriter to team leader.

Bueno started her insurance career in client management and account servicing where she developed a comprehensive understanding of client needs and risk solutions.
