AXA XL promotes three within its UK Client & Distribution team

Global insurer and reinsurer AXA XL has promoted Allan Murley to Head of Broker Management as part of a number of changes to its UK Client and Distribution team.

axa-logoMurley’s appointment is effective immediately and in his new role, he will be responsible for leading the UK Broker team and working with regional underwriting teams to grow the UK book in a profitable manner.

He joined XL Group in 2014 as Client and Distribution Leader, and has previously worked for Zurich and HSB Engineering.

AXA XL has also announced that Tim Smith has been promoted to Head of Client Management, UK, with immediate effect. In this role, Smith will have responsibility for leading the UK Client team and will work with underwriting teams to profitably grow the UK book of business.

He has previously worked at Willis, Independent Insurance, QBE, and Zurich, having joined AXA XL in 2018 as a Senior Casualty Underwriter.

Thirdly, AXA XL as revealed that Christine Cook has been promoted to Head of Portfolio Solutions, UK, effective immediately. In her new role, Cook will be tasked with coordinating and developing Portfolio Solutions, supporting the Head of Client and Distribution and the Global Head of Portfolio Solutions in the UK.

She has previously worked for Catlin as an Underwriting Assistant in the Marine team. She started her most recent role as a Senior Class Underwriter, Portfolio Deals, in 2016.

Murley, Smith, and Cook will be based in London and will report to Louise Piper, Head of UK Client & Distribution.

Piper commented: “I am delighted that Allan, Tim and Christine have been appointed in their new roles. As we move forward as one AXA XL, they will play an essential role in delivering our strategy for UK clients and brokers and providing them with access to the broader capabilities of the AXA Group.
