AXA XL Reinsurance has announced the appointment of Tara Smith-Eckert as Head of Claims, North America, Reinsurance, effective 1st May 2026.
In her new role, Smith-Eckert will be responsible for leading claims operations across North America and Bermuda, with a continued focus on delivering efficient, high-quality claims services.
With nearly two decades of professional experience, she is a claims management professional with deep expertise in casualty reinsurance.
Smith-Eckert joined AXA XL in July 2022 as a Senior Claims Analyst and currently serves as Casualty Claims Manager for North America, where she manages a team of claims professionals and oversees complex reinsurance exposures.
Prior to joining AXA XL, she was a Partner at Litchfield Cavo LLP and also held senior claims roles at XL Catlin, Navigators, and Professional Indemnity Agency.
