Specialty re/insurance group Chaucer has, in an effort to bolster expansion efforts, added Xamira Groves from AXA XL as head of insurance.
Groves will oversee the delivery of strategy and portfolio management across all general insurance lines and underwriting entities and work closely with Ed Lines, active underwriter of Syndicate 1084, Kelan Hunt, deputy active underwriter of Syndicate 1084, and Jonathan Sutcliffe, general manager of Chaucer Insurance.
She held the position of deputy global head of title insurance at AXA XL; prior to that she was managing director of Catlin South America, based in Bogotá.
During her 25 year career, Groves has worked across personal lines, commercial, marine liability, and property and casualty insurance.
At AXA XL, Groves’ responsibilities included P&L management, product development, as well as achieving top and bottom line growth targets.
