Markus Tradt, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Blockchain Insurance Industry Initiative (B3i), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Corda Network Foundation, an open source distributed ledger platform created by tech firm R3.

markus-tradt-b3iB3i switched over from Hyperledger Fabric to the Corda platform in June 2018 following a review of open source blockchain technologies.

The appointment of a Board of Directors marks the beginning of a transition period which will move governance of Corda Network from R3 to a separate legal entity.

The Board will be responsible for the overall governing of Corda Network as well as ensuring that the participants in Corda Network will have control over its future, R3 explained.

It will be comprised of senior figures from across financial services and other businesses building on Corda, and will be responsible for acting as the formal decision-making authority for the Network.
