Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has expanded its marine capabilities with the appointment of Nick Holding as Head of Marine in the UK, based in London.
This move follows the ongoing growth of the company’s marine portfolio.
Nick Major, Country Head, BHSI UK, commented on the appointment, “I am pleased to welcome Nick to lead our team of excellent marine underwriters and our ongoing expansion in this market.
“He will oversee our underwriting of complex marine accounts as well as the superior service we provide to our customers and brokers.”
Holding has an extensive career spanning 35 years of marine insurance experience. He has led underwriting teams within Lloyd’s and the company markets for much of his career.
In the UK, BHSI provides a full range of coverages for marine cargo, marine equipment, and subsea risks.
Over the last couple of weeks, BHSI has announced multiple hires, including the addition of Kelly Perry as Vice President, Head of Underwriting Support for the firm’s Surety business.
