Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), the property & casualty insurer, has appointed Kelly Perry to the newly created position of Vice President, Head of Underwriting Support for the firm’s Surety business.
Perry, based in Atlanta, brings more than 25 years of surety claims experience towards her new role.
BHSI noted that she has been instrumental in leading and building the organisation’s surety claims team since its inception.
Perry joined BHSI in 2017, taking on the position of Assistant Vice President, Surety Claims.
She was then later named VP, Global Head of Surety Claims.
Before she joined the company, Perry spent more than 10 years working as Surety Claims Manager and Senior Claim Counsel at other insurance firms.
Geoff Delisio, Head of Surety at BHSI, commented: “Kelly has been pivotal in collaborating with our underwriters to provide customers with thoughtful and consistent long-term surety solutions.
“In her new role, she will continue to use her formidable legal acumen and expertise to support our underwriters and our customers in fulfilling surety requirements, while also building out our underwriting support team to accommodate our growing portfolio of large, sophisticated customers.”

Courtney Koch became Senior Vice President, Healthcare and Casualty Claims, and Kathryn Ridenour became Senior Vice President, Professional and Construction Claims.
