Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced two key promotions across it’s North American claims team: Courtney Koch has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Healthcare and Casualty Claims, and Kathryn Ridenour has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Professional and Construction Claims.
Koch previously served as Vice President, Healthcare and Casualty Claims, at BHSI.
She joined the organisation nearly 10 years ago, working as a Senior Complex Claims Examiner, and was then later promoted to Assistant Vice President, then Vice President.
She is also a qualified attorney, with 17 years of industry experience focused on claims. In her new role, she will continue to be based in New York.
Moreover, Ridenour previously held the role of Vice President, Architects & Engineers (A&E) and Contractor’s Protective Professional (CPPI) Claims, at BHSI.
She joined the company in 2020, taking on the role of Assistant Vice President, CPPI Claims.
Overall. she has nearly 20 years of experience within managing specialty A&E and contractor’s related claims at another insurer and a private law firm.
BHSI has confirmed, that in her new role, Ridenour will continue to oversee CPPI and A&E claims, while also assuming responsibility for Construction claims, which includes Homebuilders’ Liability claims.
In her new role, she will be based in Boston.
Further, BHSI has also announced that Anthony Pizzonia has joined the company’s North American claims team, taking on the role of Vice President, Healthcare Claims.
Based in New York, Pizzonia joins BHSI with over 30 years of experience of managing and overseeing healthcare claims, which includes some of the largest and most complex claims in the healthcare industry.
In his most recent role, he served as Head of Medical Risk claims at another large national insurer, and worked in claims at a large academic medical institution as well as a national TPA.
