The organisation dedicated to promoting the professional development of women working in Bermuda’s reinsurance market, Women in Reinsurance (WiRe), has today announced the appointment of three new board members – Tracey Gibbons, Peta White and Stephen Young.
Kathleen Reardon, Chair of WiRe and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hamilton Re, welcomed the reinsurance industry leaders to the board; “It speaks volumes to the impact that WiRe has made on the Bermuda marketplace to date that Tracey, Peta and Stephen have so enthusiastically agreed to join our board. As we continue to develop WiRe, we look forward to the leadership and commitment of these three prominent executives.”
The appointment of Stephen Young to the board has made him the first male Director to join the team.
“In order to continue advancing and promoting the development of professional women in the reinsurance industry, maintaining an inclusive approach ensures the best outcome. The collective thought leadership of the expanded board—which includes our first male Director—will be instrumental to WiRe’s continued success,” Reardon continued.
She went on to thank Kathleen Faries, Head of Bermuda, Tokio Millennium Re, for her tenure with WiRe; “Kathleen was one of the original supporters of WiRe and a board member since 2011. She has been a steadfast advocate for women’s advancement in the workplace.”
