Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a provider of commercial property, casualty, and specialty insurance products, recently announced the further expansion of its management team and local underwriting expertise in Milan.
The company, a part of the multinational conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, appointed Francesco Longobardo as Head of Casualty in Italy.
BHSI is known for its financial strength, customer service, and deep industry expertise, offering comprehensive insurance solutions to businesses and organisations worldwide.
“We are excited to continue our expansion, with Francesco leading our entrance into the casualty market in Italy,” added Leonardo Castrichino, Country Manager, Italy, BHSI.
“He will also continue to build out the team that will bring our financially strong casualty capacity and CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT advantage to customers and brokers in Italy.”
Longobardo brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to BHSI. He most recently spent 17 years in senior liability underwriting positions at a global insurer, where he progressively advanced through the ranks. Prior to that, Francesco worked on the brokerage side of the business, further enhancing his industry expertise.
In his new role at BHSI, he will lead the underwriting of primary and excess casualty insurance, serving a broad range of industry sectors.
