Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), a global insurance provider, has announced the appointment of Ana Fuertes as Head of Energy and Construction in Spain.
Based in Madrid, Fuentes joins BHSI with two decades of insurance industry experience. Her career has included several leadership roles in construction, energy and technical lines at other global insurers in Spain.
She has most recently served at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) as Global Practice Group Leader Power. She has led a number of roles in the company since she joined in 2025.
Prior to AGCS, Fuentes worked as Senior Underwriter Technical Lines Iberia at ACE Group, a role she held for over eight years. She also served as Technical (Property & Construction ) Underwriter at Banco Vitalicio de España la Prevision y Banco Vitalicio de Cataluña Compañias de Seguros Sobre.

In Spain, BHSI underwrites single projects as well as annual contractor works and can provide CAT-only capacity for construction customers.
Coverages for energy and power generation customers include all risk property damage and business interruption, machinery breakdown, and property CAT insurance.
