Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI), the insurance arm of Warren Buffett’s global insurance and reinsurance company, has promoted Tomas Blas to Head of Property, Spain.
Blas has 17 years of industry experience, joining BHSI in 2019 as Head of Technical Lines in Spain.
In his new role Blas will be responsible for BHSI’s property lines portfolio in Spain, including corporate business property insurance for all industries and technical insurance solutions focused on construction, power, energy and engineering risks.
Prior to joining BHSI, he was Regional Head of Engineering Lines, at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, in its Mediterranean Region.
He was also head of Engineering Lines for Spain & Portugal and Global Practice Group Leader of Utilities, Services, IT & Communications, at AGCS.
