Brit Ltd, the global specialty insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of John King as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).
King will move to Chicago from his current role as Group Executive Underwriter at Brit Global Specialty in London, reporting to Nick Davies, President of BGSU, and working closely with Christiern Dart, Brit’s Group CUO.
He joined Brit in 2009 as Short Tail Portfolio Director, before which he spent six years as a Production Underwriter at Beazley, where he played a key role in driving the build-out of its U.S platform.
King has more than 30 year’s industry experience and started his career at Marsh, where he eventually held the role of Senior Vice President and led the company’s U.S Property broking team in London.
“We are pleased to welcome John to BGSU as Chief Underwriting Officer and we look forward to building on BGSU’s strong growth trajectory,” said Davies. “John’s appointment will ensure that this growth continues to be underpinned by Brit’s underwriting discipline.”
