Global specialty lines re/insurer Canopius has announced the appointment of Alan Winch as Head of Accident and Health.
Winch joins Canopius from Tokio Marine Kiln, where he most recently served as department head for Accident and Health.
In his new position, he is joined by Henry Brigstocke from October 2018, Tim Prifti in December 2018 and Lewis Kateley in January 2019.
Canopius said that it plans to build on the division’s existing portfolio, which was written by Mike Dickson and Dominic Ryeland, and meaningfully increase its offering, including excess of loss reinsurance.
As part of the company’s specialty practice, the expanded Accident and Health team will report to Bernie de Haldevang, Head of Specialty at Canopius.
