Canopius appoints Greg Kuchinski as US CUO

Canopius Group, a global specialty and P&C re/insurer, has announced the appointment of Greg Kuchinski as US Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), effective 9 September 2026.

Canopius logoBased in New York, Kuchinski will report to Sam Harrison, CUO at Canopius Group, and incoming Canopius US CEO Nadine Moore. He will join the US Executive Committee, supporting the continued growth and underwriting excellence of the business in a strategically important market.

Kuchinski brings extensive experience across the US P&C and specialty insurance market.

He joins Canopius after more than 17 years at AIG, where he most recently served as Chief Underwriting Officer, North America Property, responsible for portfolio strategy, profitability, and underwriting growth across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio.

Earlier roles at AIG included leadership positions spanning retail property, large limits underwriting, energy, and engineering risks.
