Capsicum Re bolsters cyber risk team with new appointment

2nd October 2017 - Author: Luke Gallin

Specialist reinsurance brokerage, Capsicum Re, has named Conrad Williams as the newest addition to its cyber risk team, effective immediately.

capsicum-re-logoWilliams will report to Ian Newman and Samantha Thompson, partners at the firm’s London property and specialty unit, and brings extensive cyber risk knowledge to the role.

Williams has completed a four-year PhD in Cyber Security at the Centre for Doctoral Training on Cyber Security, Royal Holloway University of London. He was among ten students selected for the programme, and has also published a number of research papers on access control.

Before this, Williams graduated with a 1st class honours in Maths from Royal Holloway, and also worked as a technical business analyst at Acturis Limited.

Commenting on the appointment, Newman said; “In such a dynamic environment as cyber, it’s vital that we remain at the forefront of innovation, creating solutions to meet our clients’ growing needs. Therefore, I am delighted to welcome a scholar of Conrad’s calibre; he not only brings a vast knowledge of cyber security, but a crucial understanding of the relationship between theoretical, technical and human factors in this field.

“His skills will undoubtedly complement those of our existing cyber team as we continue to broaden our offering and develop cutting-edge products that address the rapidly changing risks of today.”
