Topsail Re has announced the appointment of Carol Sorenson as Vice President of Analytics.
In the new role, Sorenson’s responsibilities will include pricing accounts and providing actuarial and pricing analytics.
Before joining Topsail, Sorenson managed a reserve portfolio and team of actuaries in her role as Vice President and Director at Zurich North America. Collectively, she holds over 17 years of primary experience in commercial lines.
“Carol has experience pricing General Liability, Auto Liability, and Workers Compensation. Additionally, Carol has experience reserving Specialty Construction Liabilities, Excess Liability, Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices Liability, Professional Liability, Cyber, and Property,” Topsail Re said.
Sorenson graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
Commenting on the new role, Sorenson said, “I was attracted to the entrepreneurship, experience and excellence of Topsail Re’s team. I’m excited to learn the business of reinsurance while contributing toward our company’s technical excellence.”
