In her new role, Puasiri reports to Michael Hauer, Managing Director and Head of Non-Life Southeast Asia, Munich Re.

She succeeds Luciën Heijstee, who served in the role since 2019. He will work alongside Puasiri for a handover period before retiring.

Puasiri has over a decade of experience in the Thai Non-Life insurance and reinsurance sector, with deep expertise in underwriting strategy, reinsurance governance, claims oversight, operational transformation, and product management.

Before ERGO, she held various positions at Nam Seng Insurance Public Company Ltd. Her commitment to innovating and developing the Thai insurance market is evidenced by her active involvement in the Thai General Insurance Association and her leadership in Insurtech initiatives, explained Munich Re.

Hauer commented on the appointment, “We sincerely thank Luciën Heijstee for his remarkable leadership in establishing and growing our Thailand Representative Office since 2019. His vision, dedication, and hard work have laid a strong foundation for the office’s success.

“I am delighted that we have found a successor in Chotima Puasiri, who will represent Munich Re competently and ambitiously in this important growth market. Thanks to her vast expertise in the Thai Non-Life insurance market, Chotima Puasiri is an ideal fit for our Bangkok rep office.”

Puasiri added, “I am delighted to represent Munich Re in Thailand and deeply grateful to the company and team for their support.

“Together with our trusted partners, we will continue to strengthen the Thai insurance market with expertise and capacity, built on reliable relationships. I promise to give my very best — with pride, passion, and a positive attitude — to support Munich Re’s growth and lasting success in Thailand.”
