CFC, a specialist insurance provider centred on emerging risks, has appointed Chris Loake as Chief Information Officer (CIO).
In his new role, Loake will drive CFC’s technology strategy that underpins its long-term vision and digital distribution capabilities, building on a track record of innovation including one-question quoting, automated renewals and agentic underwriting. Additionally, in November, he will join the Executive Committee.
Most recently, Loake served at Hiscox as Group CIO, leading the FTSE 100 insurer’s global technology transformation, including their work on AI.
He has over two decades of experience across insurance, banking and financial services, having previously held senior technology leadership roles at C. Hoare & Co, Close Brothers and Experian. He is also a Non-Executive Director at Companies House, the UK government agency.
John Howard, Chair, CFC, commented, “Technology and innovation have been central to CFC’s momentum and success since day one. Chris joins us as Chief Information Officer at a pivotal moment in our growth journey. Working closely with Adam and the broader leadership team, he will play a critical role in scaling our business globally and delivering the vision for our next chapter of evolution.
“Chris has an exceptional track record of building world-class technology, data and AI capabilities. His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we accelerate the adoption of AI across our business, unlock new opportunities for innovation and further strengthen the value we deliver to our customers and partners.”
Loake added, “CFC has established itself as a technology leader in specialty insurance, operating in a part of the market where there is huge scope for continued innovation. The company has consistently shown how technology can transform the experience for brokers and partners, and that opportunity is only becoming more exciting as advances in AI open up new possibilities across insurance.
“I’ve long admired CFC’s culture of innovation and its willingness to challenge conventional thinking. I am looking forward to working alongside Adam and the team, building on the strong foundations already in place and helping to shape its next chapter of growth.”
